Why Does God Use Water, Bread, and Wine?
Christian faith is not an escape from physical life. The Word became flesh, and Christ continues to meet embodied people through his spoken promise, baptismal water, bread, and wine. The power is not hidden in the elements themselves. It is Christ’s Word joined to them—giving faith something outside itself to receive.
