Worship in the Modern World

Praising God with the Best of the Past and the Present

The Journey to Christmas

It’s that time of year. The kids head back to school, the leaves start to change and the weather starts to get cooler… all signs that it’s time for Christmas!

Ok, no not really. But it is time to start planning Christmas!

Last Christmas, we put together our first Christmas program and the event was a huge success. Nearly 200 people attended and watched the work of over 30 volunteers and took in a great story about Christmas. This year, things will be different.

  • For one, we’re writing our own program. Last year,we used a great program that Willow Creek had put out called “A Christmas Tale.” It was lots of fun and a great program that’s scalable to any size. This year, we’re putting our own original story together – music and all- Journey style!
  • This year, we’re presenting it for two nights. Hey, we’re not going to put months of work into it and only do it once! Not to mention, we hope it grows from last year and we can’t fit much more than 200 in the room we use!
  • It will be bigger and better than ever! We’re going to look at ways to involve more people and let more people be a part of the fun. We’re going to need actors, singers, set builders, hosts, sound and lighting crews and so much more. There’s a way for everyone to be involved!

Wednesday, we decide on our basic story and everything takes off from there. Keep the team in your prayers that they can be creative and come up with an awesome story that will impact people and encourage people to take their next step this Christmas!
