Journey through Lent – Day 39
Mark 15:46
So Joseph bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb.
Today is Good Friday. It’s such a strange name for a day like today. A day of solemn remembrance for what Jesus has done.
After painstakingly removing Jesus from the cross, he quickly but solemnly moves him to the tomb. There isn’t much time because it’s nearly sundown and if Jesus is going to be buried, it needs to happen quickly.
The body is wrapped in linens and laid quietly in the tomb. Joseph rolls the stone in front of the door and with a single motion, the door is closed.
The deed is done.
It is finished.
