This week, we kicked off God at the Movies II. We did the same kind of series last year and it was such a success that we brought it again this year with all new movies. This year’s lineup is great and I can’t wait to see how the series plays out!
We kicked off the series with Wall-e: Living Beyond Your Programming. We looked at Eve throughout the movie and her change from living the way she was programmed (doing what the world says we need to do) to seeing what she was missing by not looking for it.
The Service
Awesome is the Lord (G), Chris Tomlin
- A solid one for the beginning of the service.
We Are Hungry (A), Jeff Deyo Version
- Another one that the church knows really well.
Everyday (B), Joel Houston (Hillsongs United)
- Our drummer, Matt, added a different feel to the drums that really freshened up the song. It gave it a deeper groove that made it much more interesting.
Following the message…
One Pure and Holy Passion (A), Mark Altrogge
- We haven’t done this one in a really long time, but it fit so well with the message that we just had to use it! Amanda did a great job leading this one.
Closing Song
Love the Lord (G), Lincoln Brewster
- I love the groove of this one and it’s so simple, but fun!
While you’re at it, check out what other churches did over at the Sunday Setlist blog carnival.
