Sunday, May 24 at Journey

Today, we remember those who are serving or have served in our armed forces, especially those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. On Memorial Day, Americans will pause from their routines to honor those in the military. Pastor Bob made a great point today: Often, when we see someone in uniform, we often have a feeling of gratitude toward them. Do people feel the same way toward Christians? What can we do to live our lives in such a way that those around us are grateful for the presence of those who call themselves followers of Christ?

  • A favorite at Journey.

  • Haven’t used this one in a while, but it was great to hear the church singing out on this one!

More Love, More Power, Jeff Deyo’s Arrangement

  • This one had a slightly deeper groove than we’ve done in the past and I really liked how it turned out.  A great, solid ending to the first portion of the worship service.

We kicked off the message with this video from Worship House Media. Creative and thought provoking.

We also took a few minutes to interview Amanda. Amanda has been coming to Journey since very near the beginning and has enlisted in the Navy.  She leaves Tuesday for boot camp, so we thought we’d share her thoughts about serving in the Navy and what her thoughts are about the future.

  • The second time we’ve done this one and it’s catching on quickly. This song is so simple, but is very powerful at the same time.

Your Grace is Enough, Matt Mahar

  • Another solid song that makes for a great ending.

Even though numbers were a little light this week with lots of people traveling for the holiday, it was still a great day of worship at Journey!
