Yes, I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted but I really wanted to share this series!

Christmas and music are inseparable. For many people, it’s just not Christmas until they hear White Christmas or sing Silent Night. In this series, we’re taking a look at two Christmas songs each week – one secular and one sacred. This week, we looked at Grown-up Christmas List and O Come, O Come Emmanuel. In Grown-up Christmas List, the author paints a picture of all the things wrong in the world that they want someone to fix, and in the case of the song, they are turning to Santa. In O Come, O Come Emmanuel, we hear a similar sentiment – that there are things broken in our world that no one here can fix. However in this song, the author points to the right place to find the healing and help that we need – in the Savior of the world.

The Worship Service:

  • Awesome is the Lord, Chris Tomlin
  • Love the Lord, Lincoln Brewster
  • Grown-up Christmas List, David Foster
  • The Message
  • O Come, O Come Emmanuel, Frank Ralls
  • Offering & Prayers
  • Your Grace Is Enough, Matt Mahar
